Born in Hong Kong, Jacqueline Yu moved to Britain in 2007 and is currently studying with Judith Howarth for her masters at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.


Before moving up to Glasgow, she has been studying with Joy Mammen in London while obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Music at Goldsmiths, University of London. At university, she has sung in fully staged productions of Rigoletto, La Traviata and A Midsummer Night's Dream with Opera Gold and has played the role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Goldsmiths Opera Scenes. Outside of Goldsmiths, Jacqueline has been heavily involved with Surrey Opera. She has sung in the premiere production of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's 'lost opera' Thelma, George Lloyd's Iernin, the Shepherd boy (as well as chorus) in Tosca and Nimue (and chorus) in Camelot and Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas. Passionate about the English song repertoire, Jacqueline enjoys a partnership with pianist Jonathan Musgrave and together have given concerts in Aylesbury, Cambridge and London.
